The short version: WristSignal analyzes public watch listing data to help you make informed buying decisions. We collect only what is necessary to deliver the service. We do not sell your data, track your browsing history, or share your information with advertisers.

1. Who we are

WristSignal ("WristSignal," "we," "us," or "our") is a watch market analysis tool operated as a Chrome browser extension and associated web service. Our website is wristsignal.com and our API runs at api.wristsignal.com. For privacy inquiries, contact us at privacy@wristsignal.com.

2. What data the extension reads

When you visit a supported marketplace (eBay, Reddit r/Watchexchange, WatchUSeek), the extension reads the following from the current page:

This data is read only on supported watch marketplace pages and only to generate a market signal for that specific listing. It is sent to our API over HTTPS and is not stored on your device beyond the current browser session.

The extension does not read your browsing history, access other tabs, read form inputs, or operate on any pages outside of the supported marketplaces listed in its permissions.

3. What our API receives and logs

When you trigger a market check, the following data is sent to our servers:

We log this data to a database for the purpose of improving signal accuracy, monitoring for abuse, and generating aggregate market statistics. Logs may be retained for up to 12 months.

We do not log your IP address in association with listing data, and we do not create user profiles or track individuals across sessions.

4. Report purchases

When you purchase a full market report, the checkout flow is handled by Stripe. WristSignal receives confirmation of payment and the listing parameters needed to generate the report. We do not store full credit card numbers or billing addresses. Stripe's privacy policy governs all payment data.

Your email address is collected by Stripe at checkout and used solely to deliver your report. We do not add you to marketing lists without explicit consent.

5. Market data sources

WristSignal retrieves pricing data from public sources including eBay's Browse API, Reddit's public JSON API, and WatchUSeek's public classifieds. We access only publicly available listing data. No user accounts or credentials are required or used on your behalf on these platforms.

6. Cookies and local storage

The WristSignal website uses no tracking cookies. Our extension does not use cookies. We use Chrome's storage.local API solely to store the extension's install date for internal diagnostics. No personal information is stored in storage.local.

7. Third-party services

We use the following third-party infrastructure to operate WristSignal:

8. Data sharing and sale

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party. We may share data with third parties only in the following circumstances:

9. Children's privacy

WristSignal is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us at privacy@wristsignal.com and we will delete it promptly.

10. Your rights

You may request deletion of any personal data we hold associated with a specific listing submission or report purchase by emailing privacy@wristsignal.com. Because we do not create persistent user accounts, identification is done by matching the email address provided at checkout or specific listing details you provide.

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have additional rights under GDPR/UK GDPR including the right to access, rectify, erase, or port your data, and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

11. Security

All data in transit between the extension and our API is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. Our database is access-controlled and not publicly exposed. We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be noted in the extension's release notes. Continued use of WristSignal after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
